Chauncy Billups Makes All-Star Cut

The Denver Nuggets and several of the team's players might be having an excellent season so far. But only guard Chauncy Billups was selected yesterday to play on the Western Conference's All-Star team--and only as a reserve. As The Denver Post notes, forward Carmelo Anthony "was shut out." Billups, a Denver native who joined his team last year, is averaging 18.8 points and 6.5 assists. The Nuggets are 29-13 since acquiring him. As for Anthony, it seems his fractured hand, which has kept him sidelined for weeks, put him out of the All-Star running, despite his great stats.
