Betsey Johnson

The Gist: Johnson's sense of fashion always veers toward the upbeat and colorful, while her shows are known for their fun. This season, the designer's inspiration comes from--wait for it--pirates! Featuring: On the face of it, Johnson's show looks somewhat madcap, but the designer has been in business since the mid-1960s and knows how to create clothing her customers will covet. Wearable items come in the form of bright floral-print cropped jackets and pants; long, lean knits; and tiered ruffle dresses. Especially terrific are the skull-and-cross-bone leggings.

The "It" Factor For Denver: Denver may fall on the more conservative side of the fashion spectrum, but incorporating one of Johnson's cropped jackets or a novelty cardigan will surely spice up a local girl's wardrobe. Look For It Next Spring At: Betsey Johnson, 120 Clayton Lane, 720-941-3421.
