Best Film Bet: Emerging Filmmakers Project Tomorrow

Once a month, Denver's independent film community gathers to talk shop, sip free brews, and watch locally made short films at The Bug Theatre. March's meeting takes place tomorrow, and there are two reasons to skip the Cineplex and head to Lower Highland. One: Saints Rising, an excerpt from young filmmaker Hailima Yates' documentary about life in New Orleans today. Two: Quillions, a one-take musical filmed in downtown Denver, which won last weekend's Panasonic HD Filmmaker Shootout at the Miami International Film Festival. Thu, Mar. 19, 8 p.m. The Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo St., 303-477-5977 $5
