Craft Beer Week Preview

American Craft Beer Week is officially here. Today through Sunday, brewpubs and craft breweries will be celebrating with new beers, music, and food-pairing events. All of the events are listed here, but for Cheap Thrills readers, I've singled out a handful that stand out: Monday: Boulder Beer Company is offering Brewer’s Choice beers, which are typically available only in the pub, a great chance to try the lesser-known drafts. Even better: happy-hour prices from 3 p.m. on, Monday through Friday. Tuesday: Avery Brewing Company is hosting "The World According to Avery Brewing Company: A Thorough Introduction to the Craft" from 6 to 8 p.m. The discussion addresses different styles of beer, the art of craft brewing, and includes a brewery tour. $15 includes a tasting and pint glass. RSVP via the website. Wednesday: Upslope Brewing Company donates a dollar from every pint to a local charity on Wednesdays. The brewery is also working to pair its Single Batch Series with food from Dubbin’s Sandwiches. Thursday: Left Hand Brewing Company is bringing back some of its seasonal favorites. On Thursday re-live the winter months (or is it the recent weeks?) with Left Hand’s Fade to Black Export Stout, a thick, boozy recollection of colder times. Friday: Dry Dock Brewing is famous for tapping deliciously creative beers on its Firkin Fridays. For Craft Beer Week, stop by for a Wasabi Rice Ale, made by the brewers on Big Brew Day with fellow homebrewers.
