Coffee Biz: Crema Coffeehouse

A dreary Monday morning calls for just one thing: A tall cup of strong coffee. For that we head to Crema Coffeehouse, a tiny, edgy spot on north Larimer Street. Here, owner Noah Price brews Novo Coffee, the locally based company that inspires a cult-like following. If you're lucky, the Aceh from Sumatra will be brewing (and if not, request it). A heady tonic, your cup will hint of molasses, even cola---and needs no milk or sugar. Full disclosure: Price is my cousin, but his dedication to coffee, distilling its nuances, and his mission to become Denver's version of Stumptown Coffee Roasters, would have won me over regardless of family ties. 2862 Larimer St., 720-235-2995

Good to know. Novo is very good. I get cups from their Arvada shop off Wadsworth just south of 80th, which changed owners but still sells Novo beans and brew. I also second the vote on Aceh Sumatra... or frankly anything from Sumatra.
