When Pasta Pasta Pasta, a longtime Cherry Creek lunch spot, picked up and moved a couple blocks (from Fillmore Street to Fillmore Plaza), I wondered who would take over the vacated space. Since there's no storefront, the location is a tricky one, but for two-and-a-half months, So Perfect Eats has made a go of it—and a fine one at that.

Painted apple green and turquoise, the cheerful eatery is home base for owner Lynda Campbell's from-scratch cooking and food catering. The menu boards show a well-edited roster of salads, sandwiches, and soups (these, especially the mushroom-leek, go quickly). A reliable staple is the mac and cheese, a cozy dish made gooey with five different cheeses and crunchy with a toasted breadcrumb crust. Not to be missed, however, are the daily specials, with offerings such as the decadent I Love Paris baguette sandwich stuffed with French ham, honey cup mustard, and generous amounts of Brie.

As you eat (or if you stop in for takeout), a bevy of tempting treats—everything from freshly baked scones and muffins to frosted cupcakes and cheesecake squares—beckon from the counter and the glass case. I couldn't resist picking up a dense and chewy iced molasses cookie. 

Bonus: So Perfect Eats also has a small fridge of ready-made items. The cheesy, almost soufflé-like green chile dip is guaranteed to make an appearance on my holiday appetizer list.
