Happy Hour: Los Oasis Latin Grill & Cerveceria

When Los Oasis Latin Grill & Cerveceria opened in early June, it signaled a revitalization of the former Redfish Fish House & Brewery and the Boulder Draft House space. Here, owner George Hanna (once proprietor of the similarly named draft house, the Oasis) returns to the Boulder dining scene after a 10-year hiatus, teaming up with brewmaster Mike Kasian to offer Southern Mexican cuisine, house-crafted, Mexican-style beers, and cocktails made with the locally distilled Los Oasis Blue Agave.

Although pricey for a Mexican joint, happy hour (4 to 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. until closing) offers a selection of plates at more reasonable prices. Try the sweet and smoky wings paired with a tangy salsa; the Tinga tostada piled high with juicy chipotle-roasted chicken, lettuce, tomato, avocado, and Cotija cheese; or the generous quesadillas packed with melted cheese, smoky chicken, and mildly spicy chiles. Wash it all down with the malty Los Oasis Red Ale, refreshing red or white sangría, or a classic margarita.
