Beauty Review: GloProfessional

I’ve long been a fan of Denver-based gloProfessional's feel-good products. The skincare and makeup company offers everything from hydro-nourishing shampoos to suave micro-eyeliners and powder cheek-stains to facial scrubs, body butters, and purifying gel cleansers. You could outfit your entire bathroom with this stuff. Personally, I’m never more than an arm’s length away from the delightfully jumbo-size lip balm; the cherry version sits on my desk at work; the mint version on my vanity at home and in my purse.

The company has three “systems”: gloMinerals (makeup), gloTherapeutics (skincare), and the newly debuted gloEssentials (haircare). Last week, I decided I needed a little beauty boost to kick the last dregs of winter. So I picked up some of glo’s newest lotions and potions to try. While the makeup was lovely—the Cleo Eye-Shadow Quad was a fun change from my usual, and the Perfect Lip Duo was just the right amount of barely-there color—my new can’t-live-without-them products are the skin treatments. Every morning I’ve applied the SPF 40 Facial Moisturizer, and my face always feels fresh, hydrated, and—here’s the kicker—not in the least bit oily. I’m also addicted to the Luxury Hand Cream, which now occupies a prominent spot next to the Cherry Balm on my desk (see photo). But my (unexpected) favorite? The Fleur Essence roll-on fragrance, which smells fresh, clean, and utterly refreshing (glo calls out “notes of freesia, rose, peony, geranium, and lily”). The tiny tube is the perfect size to throw in your bag and dab on when you’re rushing from work to a meeting to an event.

It’s springtime, ladies: Get thee over to the glo Skincare Boutique & Spa in Cherry Creek (180 Steel Street, 303-322-1090) and check out the goods.
