Burrito Biz: La Fuente

In 2008, chef/owner Federico Caroza moved La Fuente Mexican and American Food, his family-run Mexican restaurant, from Commerce City to a more convenient location just south of the I-70 and Federal Boulevard interchange. Now, Caroza's sun-drenched dining room on 44th Avenue is home to a steady stream of diners hungry for his well executed breakfast burritos.

Choose from nearly a dozen options, including steak, chorizo, bean, bacon, ham, or sausage. Each protein is stuffed inside a fresh flour tortilla with buttery and well seasoned fried potatoes and fluffy scrambled eggs. Add a ladle of fiery green chile over the top and a smattering of melted cheese, fresh iceberg lettuce, and diced tomato and you've got breakfast (and maybe lunch too). My go-to is the burrito a la Mexicana (pictured) with caramelized onion, jalapeños, and steak.

Tip: Prefer the green chile on the inside? Just ask.
