Gotta Have It: KangaCare Pail Liner

Let’s get one thing straight: I’m not a maniacal, no-waste, all-green kind of mom. I try my best to do the right thing: I shop with reusable bags, I teach my four-year-old not to waste water, I keep a vegetable garden, and I compost. But—judgemental mothers stop reading here—I still use disposable diapers.

Here’s the thing: I’ve got a six-month-old who goes through diapers like nobody’s business. Every time I heave a garbage bag’s worth of diapers into the trash, I feel guilty, but not enough to spend the money, the water, and the time converting over to the cloth variety.

But, thanks to Golden-based KangaCare, I’ve recently arrived at a compromise. The company, which champions its Rumparooz cloth diapers, also makes reusable diaper pail liners. The washable cloth bags, which are coated with an odor-resistant sealant, can be used again and again, which means less plastic goes to the landfill. I’m so pleased with the purchase (I’ve given my bag a two-week test run) that I bought another one yesterday specifically for our recycle bin. Better yet, the sturdy sacks come is fun, bright colors.

Find the KangaCare’s liners (and for more heartier moms, the Rumparooz diapers) at the Giggling Green Bean or online.
