Tonight: Upslope Launches New Collaboration Beer

The Boulder Brewery partnered with Denver's Crafty Ladies Beer Club for this one-off sour wheat brew.

Do you love beer and wine? If so, the latest collaboration brew from Boulder’s Upslope Brewing Company and Denver’s own Crafty Ladies Beer Club, an all-women collective of beer aficionados and home brewers, might be just what you’re looking for. This pear-infused Berliner Weisse is making its debut this evening at Highland Tap and Burger in LoHi.

The sour wheat beer was dreamt up by the Crafty Ladies and brought to fruition at Upslope’s Lee Hill location in North Boulder. As Berliner Weisses do, it has a light body and sharp, carbonic bite, reminiscent of Champagne. Charlie Condon, Upslope’s head of specialty projects, ranks this creation in the top 10 of the more than 100 beers he has worked on. “To me it is a good balance of both sweet and tart. It definitely has the taste of pears, but it also has a very white wine-like character to it,” Condon says.

You can also find this limited one-off brew at Bar Dough and Upslope’s two Boulder tap room locations. Just 14 kegs were brewed, and HTB and Bar Dough co-owner (and Crafty Ladies Founder) Katie O’Shea Padro doesn’t expect the suds to last more than a few weeks. Get your hands on this distinctive collaboration brew while you can.

Stop by HTB around 6 p.m. tonight to sample the singular brew and chat with the brewers themselves.
