Denver Gets Its First Private Karaoke Biz

Voicebox will open in the RiNo neighborhood this month.

Known as nori bang—which loosely translates to “singing room”—South Korean karaoke is done in closed-door spaces where the only witnesses to your screeching version of “Bohemian Rhapsody” are your friends. That same kind of party privacy comes to Colorado this summer with the Denver debut of Voicebox. (There are other Voicebox locations in Portland, Oregon.) The RiNo facility will be a self-conscious crooner’s paradise, with 10 soundproof suites ranging in capacity from six to 30 people. And if Voicebox’s social seclusion isn’t enough to get you to the microphone, the signature sake cocktails provide the liquid courage you’ll need to tackle one of the 70,000 available tunes.
