Most of the cut flowers sold in the United States are grown in Colombia and Ecuador—countries that are still lax when it comes to environmental standards. Before you start talking about imposing tariffs, though, we suggest buying buds from the Front Range’s many eco-friendly flower farms, such as Blush Flowers On Vine in Fort Collins and Boulder’s Farm N’ Wild Wellspring. After all, July and August mark the height of Colorado’s blooming season, when you can build an absolutely stunning bouquet using locally cultivated summertime sprigs (like these).
