Denver’s Getting Its Very First Fall Restaurant Week

Visit Denver hopes to help local restaurants boost sales at a critical time by adding a week— November 13–22—to its program, which typically takes place in February.

There have been a lot of firsts this year—most of them not great—but here’s a good one for 2020: Denver’s first-ever Fall Restaurant Week.

Typically, Visit Denver’s Restaurant Week is held in late February, as a way to spark business during a normally slow time of year. With all the challenges restaurants are facing this year due to COVID closures and reopening for dine-in service at reduced capacities, the organization decided to add a bonus week, from November 13–22, to support the hospitality industry and, hopefully, boost restaurant sales. Because what would future Denver Restaurant Weeks be without, you know, the restaurants?

“The new Fall Restaurant Week comes at such a critical time in November when patios will be closing and cold weather will be creeping in,” says Katie Lazor, executive director of EatDenver, a nonprofit that supports and advocates for the city’s independent restaurants. “Visit Denver’s commitment to reminding people to dine out, getting people excited about dining out, and putting a spotlight on our local restaurants is so appreciated; every little bit will help. We’ll take anything we can get heading into the winter.”

New this time around are takeout and delivery options from many of the participating restaurants, for both food and drinks. Which means that you can get that three-course meal delivered to your door, complete with wine and cocktails. And if you choose to dine in, you could very well be dining out, thanks to Denver’s recent extension of its outdoor dining program.

Fall Restaurant Week will follow the same three-tiered pricing format ($25, $35, or $45 per person) for a multi-course dinner at the city’s best eateries. The list of participating restaurants and their menus will be released on October 26, so set a reminder and rejoice that there’s actually something to look forward to this year.
