The Senate’s compromise immigration reform legislation saw its first action last week. It voted on two modifications.
The first was an amendment to reduce the number of guest worker visas from 400,000 to 200,000. Senator Wayne Allard voted for the reduction while Sen. Ken Salazar voted against it.

The second was to eliminate the plan to provide a path to legalization for the 12 million undocumented residents among us. Sen. Allard voted for the elimination, Sen. Salazar voted to keep it.
Congress is in recess until June 4. When it resumes, the Senate will again tackle the immigration legislation.
