Just because the Mile High City might be, well, far away from New Orleans, doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate Mardi Gras in all its rowdy glory this Tuesday. Below are some events around Denver celebrating this Louisiana tradition, all of them BYOB — that is, bring your own beads.
Mardi Gras 2013 Club Crawl: If celebrating Mardi Gras early this past weekend just didn’t cut it for you, multiple clubs in LoDo will be participating in this Fat Tuesday club crawl. One ticket grants you access to Suit 200, Chloe, and 24K. Tuesday 9 p.m., Various locations. $10-$15.
That's only $1 per issue!
The Big Easy Creole Kitchen’s Mardi Gras Party: Indulge in the flavors of New Orleans while taking in some live music at this traditional celebration, which features a real crawfish boil and red beans and rice. Tuesday 6-10 p.m. Entrée prices vary.
Follies Voudou: Why not celebrate this holiday of over-the-top gaieties with a burlesque improv-variety performance? Bonus: Some New Orleans-style goods will be available to purchase before and after the show. Tuesday 8 p.m., Voodoo Comedy Playhouse. $9.
Breckenridge Mardi Gras Parade: While snow gloves, hats, and parkas might not be the most popular dress code for Mardi Gras celebrations, Breckenridge keeps the festivities high with its annual Mardi Gras Parade, even if the temperatures might be low. Tuesday 4:30 p.m., Main Street, Breckenridge. Free.
