Wednesday is Denver’s Bike to Work Day, and there’s more to look forward to than just pedaling to the office. Events have been planned throughout the day—from free breakfasts to lunchtime yoga and after-work drinks—for those of us making the switch to two wheels.
Morning commute: Ready to join the throngs of bicycling commuters? First, register online. Next, check out the map to find directions, breakfast stations, and group rides.
That's only $1 per issue!
Midday: Wednesday is also the kick off for the “Revitalize Lunch Hour” series, a 45-minute yoga class paired with a healthy lunch. Yoga starts at noon at the Benedict Fountain Park (Tremont Place and 22nd Street) and is followed by lunch at The Queen Anne Bed & Breakfast (2147 Tremont Place). There is a required $20 donation, a portion of which will benefit the Denver B-cycle program. (Mid-July, prices will rise to $30 for the session.)
After-work commute: Celebrate with the Second Annual Bike from Work Bash at Cactus, on the corner of 15th and Little Raven streets, from 5 to 8 p.m. It’s a big—and free—party, featuring Breckenridge Brewery beer, Infinite Monkey Theorem wine, and Illegal Pete’s burritos. You can also check out a bike-polo demonstration and get a tune-up.
