The hills (and the streets and the neighborhoods) of Breckenridge are about to be alive with the sound of music this summer.
Breck Music, part of Breckenridge Creative Arts, is debuting a mobile stage this month to spread the joy of concerts returning all over town.

The new AirStage is a 1975 Airstream Ambassador Travel Trailer retrofitted with a stage and LED wall. “It’s something that’s very authentically Breckenridge, with the camper life, the desire for the open road, and the people who live here and who visit here being attracted to that feeling,” says Tamara Nuzzaci Park, executive director of Breck Music. “And pairing it with music—there’s really nothing better.”
The stage will host a variety of concerts, fam jams (family-oriented music and craft events), and bike-in movies, primarily at the downtown Breckenridge Arts District campus. All of the acts will be local to Summit County or the Front Range. The first event—a screening of the film Rad—is on June 23, and Breck Music is packing Independence Day weekend with a bevy of live shows, an artist market, and a chalk art competition. All of the events are free, though advance registration is required; plan to bring your own chair or blanket and snacks.
Locals get to enjoy additional shows: On four weekends this summer, the AirStage will head to various neighborhoods for special block parties.
No matter how you encounter the AirStage, expect a fun, intimate experience. “It’s designed where you feel like you’re pulling up to your campsite, with your campfire, and your best friends happen to be really great musicians,” explains Nuzzaci Park.
And really great artists. Visual artists will be running craft stations and programming funky, interactive installations to run on the LED wall during events.
The mobile productions offer Breck Music a chance to introduce a new side of itself to the public, too, as the shows skew toward non-classical music, the long-time focus of the organization’s annual summer festival. “The emphasis of the AirStage is really multi-genre,” Nuzzaci Park says. “We have everything from Afro-folk to blues to Austin-indie to Mexican rock.” Some classical performances will likely appear in the lineup.
Breck Music is also hosting a series of other—mostly free—events throughout the summer, including Gold Fest, its annual fundraising gala on July 16, yoga classes with local musicians, and regular concerts.
