It seems quarterback Jay Cutler can stop freaking out now. Instead of trading him or bringing in a replacement for him, the Denver Broncos signed Chris Simms as a backup quarterback yesterday, reports CBS4.
Simms, who landed a two-year deal, has spent six seasons in the National Football League, starting in Tampa Bay before going to Tennessee last season. He has started just 15 games, though he was an overachiever as quarterback of the Texas Longhorns, ranking second in his school’s all-time career wins category.
