A German Shorthaired Pointer from Colorado won the Best in Show prize at the Westminster Kennel Club dog show on Tuesday, beating more than 2,000 rivals to claim top honors at the world’s most largest and prestigious dog show.
The brown-and-white dog named Carlee struck a stately pose, her hindlegs stretched taut, as the sold-out crowd at Madison Square Garden cheered the winner of the 129th annual dog show. “She likes the applause. She plays into it,” her handler Michelle Ostermiller said afterward. “She just nailed it.”

The 5-year-old dog is owned by Richard and Lynda Stark of Castle Rock, where she will now retire to breed.
