The father of the man accused of shooting two students at Deer Creek Middle School on February 23, says his son was fighting off imaginary enemies, and he believes his son is suffering from schizophrenia (via The Associated Press). But that hasn’t stopped authorities from pursuing 15 charges against Bruco Eastwood, including attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, child abuse resulting in bodily injury, and possession of a weapon on school grounds (via CNN). Both of the students who were shot were treated for injuries and are now at their homes. Eastwood faces more than 97 years in prison, according to CBS4, which reports that Eastwood remains in jail and requires $1 million for bail. Prosecutors want to keep an arrest affidavit sealed because investigators are still talking to witnesses and releasing details to the public could affect witness statements, writes 9News.
