Denver is under a tornado watch. There’s also big thunderstorms and hail about to hit. I hear Dick Cheney is in Denver tonight, giving an award at the Mizel Museum Dinner at Wings Over the Rockies.
1,600 people are expected at tonight’s event. It’s a yearly event; I attended as a guest of the Mizels two years ago when Gov. and Mrs. Owens were the honorees. Dick Cheney is listed as the Honorary Dinner Chairperson of tonight’s event. Co-Chairs include Colorado Senators Allard and Salazar, Governor Owens, Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper and Aurora Mayor Ed Tauer.
The big award tonight will go to Conrad Dietler, and I hear, but can’t confirm, that Cheney will be presenting it. He was in Colorado Springs yesterday to give the Air Force Academy commencement speech.
It’s really a fun event, and all the big Colorado donors are there. But, getting your car in and out of valet parking during a tornado watch can’t be much fun. Let alone Air Force II.
