When I go to Il Posto, the urban-casual Italian restaurant near City Park, I often have a hard time choosing an entrée from the tantalizing list of house-made pastas, creamy risottos, grilled meats, and fresh seafood.
Fortunately, chef-owner Andrea Frizzi makes it easier for indecisive diners like me with a nightly tasting menu that offers a sampling of dishes from the evening’s lineup. (Il Posto changes portions of its menu daily, depending on the availability of seasonal ingredients.)
That's only $1 per issue!
On a recent visit, the three-course menu featured a succulent, milk-braised pork belly starter served with plump red grapes and grilled baby fennel; a bright and surprising risotto with strawberries and pistachios; and a grilled New York strip steak served with green garlic and springy English peas. The meal showcased Frizzi’s talent for blending taste and texture in entertaining ways.
Even better: It costs just $45 (or $69 with wine pairings)—and that included a trio of Italian custard for dessert.
Tip: The tasting menu provides a choice between two options for each course, so go with a friend, order everything, and split it.
