Colorado is losing a National Basketball Association team. Not the Denver Nuggets, but the Colorado 14ers, an NBA development-league team that calls Broomfield home. The team was purchased by the Dallas Mavericks, who plan to move the team to suburban Dallas, according to The Associated Press. The 14ers were successful this season, winning the D-League championship, but they struggled to attract fans, playing their home games for an average of 1,175 people. The team played in front of less than 1,000 people seven times, reports The Denver Post. The 14ers were a feeder team for the Nuggets, who would send raw talents to Broomfield to brush up on their skills. NBA teams share D-League teams, and the Nuggets will now have to find another one.
