20090731_5280_table_talk_lalas_webIt’s sacrilege, I know, to admit that I don’t love chocolate. But, every once in a while, a combination comes along that convinces me otherwise. One of those treats is the espresso semifreddo at Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria.

This decadent dessert arrives in an oversize coffee cup and is layered with fudgy, flourless chocolate torte and creamy coffee-flavored semifreddo. Adding to the delight is a whimsical puff of Tahitian vanilla cotton candy.

With spoons at the ready, my only gripe is that this sweet can sometimes arrive too frozen. But then, you can busy yourself with the cotton candy while the semifreddo melts to the appropriate temperature.
