Hog Haven Farm: Local nonprofit, Hog Haven Farm, started their organization with one mission in mind—to provide a safe, happy home for potbellied pigs rescued from neglect, abuse, and abandonment. They promote pigs as a domesticated pet, therapeutic animal, and involve them in various outreach programs. They are currently housing 26 pigs, five of which are therapy pigs used to provide comfort and joy to retirement communities, school visits, and libraries. In order to keep this haven safe, donations are graciously being accepted to help provide feed and upkeep of housing. Learn more about donations and volunteer opportunities on their website.
