Keep Kids Thinking and Having Fun: Have you ever wished you could go back to summer camp? Well, now’s your chance. Rocky Mountain Communities—a nonprofit that provides affordable housing and resident services to more than 1,300 families across the state—is looking for volunteers to help out at its summer enrichment program. The program starts today and goes through Aug. 20, providing reading time, math games, lunch, recess, swimming, and enrichment for children in first to fifth grade. Volunteers are needed to help in each part of the program. Bayaud Healthy Family Fair: Bayaud Enterprises is hosting its annual health fair, aimed at helping people in the community learn about health issues and get access to resources. This family-friendly event includes games, speakers, food, and a special appearance by the Denver Broncos’ mascot, Miles. Chef’s Challenge: Foodies with a flair for altruism can combine their interests and attend the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation’s Third Annual Culinary Competition. This event brings together some of Denver’s best chefs to compete for the title of Chef Challenge Winner. Attendees sample delicious dishes, vote for their favorites, and raise money for the foundation, which seeks a cure for cystic fibrosis. The genetic disease affects about 30,000 people nationwide. Individual tickets are $100 per person, and you can buy tickets or donate here. Wednesday, 5:30 p.m., Mile High Station, 2027 Old W. Colfax Ave.

Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s: The sixth annual Pedaling 4 Parkinson’s ride is right around the corner. Hop on your bike to raise money for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and help fight the disease. The annual rides, organized by three Denver women, have raised $130,000 for research, including $65,000 last year alone. Participants have the choice of three different rides: the Ten Mile Ride at 11.4 miles, the Metric Century at 65.7 miles, and the Century at 100.1 miles. Register ahead of time for a discounted fees, but keep in mind that online registration ends June 8. With registration, you pledge to raise an additional $150 for the foundation.
