Veterans to Farmers: Scrap that weeknight casserole you were planning and head to Session Kitchen for a big plate of patriotism (and delicious dishes) on Tuesday night. The South Pearl Street eatery—which made 5280’s list of Best New Restaurants in early 2014—is donating 20 percent of all dinner sales to Veterans to Farmers, an organization that teaches military veterans how to farm in urban areas. Beer Release Party: You may be tired of pumpkin beer by now, but Wynkoop Brewing Company is going to give you another reason to love it. On Wednesday, the LoDo hangout is debuting their newest brew, the Cottonwood Organic Pumpkin Porter. For every pint you purchase, $1 will go to the Cottonwood Institute, a program that connects underserved students to the outdoors and empowers them to take on environmental issues. Admission is free, but be sure to RSVP online. You’ll be entered to win some goodies, like free Uber rides, Otterboxes, and a date night-package provided by 5280. Can’t make the party? No worries. Farm-to-Table Fundraiser: Fresh fare goes far beyond your plate at the Boulder County Farmers’ Markets’ Farm-to-Table Fundraiser. During this first-annual event, four community farms will join forces with local restaurants and breweries to create signature dishes, with every ingredient coming straight from the farms. There will be live bluegrass music and farmer slam poetry (yes, really), as well as a silent auction with items ranging from tickets to the Great American Beer Festival to a crop share from a participating farm. Bacon and Beer Festival: Bacon and beer go together like salt and pepper—it’s just a natural fit. On Sunday, enjoy copious amounts of both at the third-annual Bacon and Beer Festival, brought to you by Eat Boston and Denver Off the Wagon. The event, benefitting Metro CareRing and Project Angel Heart—both of which provide meals to those in need throughout Denver—allows attendees to sample bacon-based dishes from 25 restaurants and suds from 20 local breweries.
