The smoking ban moves to the Colorado Senate today, where it is said to have a 50/50 chance of passing.

The bill was amended in the House last week to include a ban on bars and all establishments with a liquor license. Casinos, racetracks, bingo parlors and hospices are excluded.

Bar owner James Von Feldt, who owns Billy’s Inn in northwest Denver, said he doesn’t like the proposal “one bit.”

“People come here to drink and smoke,” he said.

The bill’s sponsor, Dan Grossman, is three votes short and may need them today. Stay tuned.
