FESTIVAL: BOULDER’S FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL
As glasses clinked early this summer to honor Aspen’s 25th Food and Wine Festival, bottles of wine were being set aside for the inaugural Boulder Food and Wine Festival. To celebrate Colorado’s wine, 25 of the state’s 60 vineyards will offer samples of over 100 local wines and meads. Grab a glass of medium bodied red to pair with the food samples from Frasca Food and Wine, The Kitchen, and Q’s Restaurant. Brass bands and Brazilian Samba set the stage for a Waiter Race and Classes and Demo’s Tent. Kick off your shoes, dance a bit, and enjoy the quality of food and wine that is coming out of our western state. EVENT: DUO HOSTS FARM-TO-TABLE DINNER
After a day in the office, disconnected from the real world outside, few of us remember the farmer who woke at sunrise to pick the cucumber we’ll turn into a cool soup for dinner. But it’s with thanks to early bird farmers that restaurants like Duo consistently serve vibrant dishes that use the flavors of the season. To bridge the gap between farmers and diners, Duo and Boulder’s RedWagon Organic Farm will host an Organic Farm Dinner. The tentative menupromises savory cucumber soup, tender roasted lamb loin, and sweet peachtart. During the first course and before dessert, a farmer will briefly explain the careful work invested in your meal’s ingredients. WINE: FIVE WINES FOR $52.80
