Since they launched last fall, the Altitude Sports & Entertainment cable channel has focused on sports, but the network is finally branching out into entertainment. “On Stage” is a new two-hour show they’ll produce here in Denver, featuring local music performances at various venues.
But this won’t be just concert footage. Each show will feature a live performance of a local band, with plenty of clips sprinkled in throughout devoted to interviews with both band and audience members. They’ll look into the band’s history, song meanings and inspiration, future plans, and the group’s ties to the region. Audience members can offer their thoughts, or just show up for the taping to see their mug on TV.
That's only $1 per issue!
Shelly Harper, senior VP of programming at Altitude, said to me today that the network is excited to finally start working on the “entertainment” aspect of the network. “It’s our first one, and we’re really excited about it,” she gushed about the show.
Want to check out the first filming? You’ll have to sign a waiver to enter the club, but other than that, all you need to do is just show up by 8 p.m. this Saturday night, January 29, at Jazz @ Jack’s. Denver light jazz veterans Dotsero will be featured in the first episode, scheduled to air on February 17, 18, and 19.
