’Tis the season for all things merry, and there’s nothing like a holiday concert to get you into the giving spirit. No matter what genre you gravitate toward, there’s a variety of Christmas music for it. From a gypsy jazz to Motown and flamenco to country, we’ve rounded up the best holiday-themed music events around the Mile High City in November and December for every kind of music enthusiast.

November
How the Grinch Stole Christmas in Concert
- Where: Boettcher Concert Hall (1000 14th St.)
- Details: Shows on Nov. 29 and 30, both at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $74 to $172.
As the Grinch and Cindy Lou Who figure out the meaning of Christmas on the big screen, the Colorado Symphony will play the score of How the Grinch Stole Christmas live. Pro tip: Stay for the credits.
Kids’ Matinee: A Dazzling Christmas

- Details: Nov. 30 at noon; doors at 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $5.
Santa himself—plus a few sidekicks, like Ralph, the world’s tallest elf—will perform popular holiday tunes while kids and their older chaperones enjoy lunch.

The Doo Wop Project Christmas
- Where: Lone Tree Arts Center (10075 Commons St., Lone Tree)
- Details: Dec. 1 at 7 p.m. and Dec. 2 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets range from $45 to $65.
You’ll be thrown back to the era of the original White Christmas during this concert of Doo Wop holiday tunes sung by a trio of Broadway performers accompanied by a five-piece band.
Sarah Brightman: A Christmas Symphony
- Where: Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre (1350 Curtis St.)
- Details: Dec. 4 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets start at $80; VIP packages start at $431.
Watch acclaimed English soprano Sarah Brightman showcase her three-octave range when she stops in the Mile High City during her national holiday tour; she’ll be joined by an orchestra, choir, and some special guests.
Celtic Woman: White Christmas

Like Mariah Carey and Michael Bublé, Christmas is Celtic Woman’s time to shine. The Irish ensemble will perform selections like “Silent Night,” “Danny Boy,” and “Carol of the Bells” with accompaniment by the Colorado Symphony.

98.5 KYGO’s St. Jude Jam
- Where: Grizzly Rose (5450 North Valley Highway)
- Details: Dec. 5 at 8 p.m. Tickets range from $47 to $55.
In the seasonal spirit of giving, 100 percent of the proceeds of this annual show go to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. This year, country acts Brothers Osbourne, Kameron Marlowe, and Bayker Blankenship will perform.
North Pole BriGAYde
- Where: Central Presbyterian Denver (1660 Sherman St.), Unity of Boulder Spiritual Center (2855 Folsom St.), and St. Andrew UMC Highland Ranch (9203 S. University Blvd.)
- Details: Shows on Dec. 5, 6, 7, 8, 13, and 15 at various times. Tickets start at $15.
Denver’s eminent queer chorus will perform holiday standards for audiences in Denver, Boulder, and Highlands Ranch.
Mannheim Steamroller Christmas by Chip Davis
- Where: Temple Hoyne Buell Theatre (1350 Curtis St.)

The classic Mannheim Steamroller sound—pioneered by Chip Davis in the 1970s—is still beloved today. Audiences can hear hits such as “Deck the Halls!” and “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” performed by 15 musicians playing more than 20 different instruments.
A Holiday Evening with Leslie Odom, Jr.

Hamilton fans won’t want to miss Aaron Burr himself serenade the Mile High City with selections from his 2020 release The Christmas Album. The Colorado Symphony, conducted by Christopher Dragon, will support.
Girl Named Tom: The Joy of Christmas Tour
- Where: Bluebird Theater (3317 E. Colfax Ave.)
- Details: Dec. 7 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $50.
Sibling trio Girl Named Tom first made a name for themselves covering hits such as “The Chain” and “Dust in the Wind” on the Voice. During their holiday tour, they’ll put their country spin on Christmas classics.
El Javi: Acoustic Christmas

Denver-based guitarist El Javi will pull from far-ranging genres—flamenco, folk, world music, prog rock—to deliver his own take on holiday standards.
Purnell Steen & the Five Points Ambassadors Celebrate a Cool Yule

Keeping the spirit of the Five Points jazz scene alive, this seven-piece band includes Brazilian guitar, trumpet, and sax players, plus Myra Warren on vocals.
106.7 The Bull Presents: Acoustic Christmas

If you prefer your Christmas tunes to sound like they’re being sung around a campfire, this country music jamboree is up your alley. Riley Green, Tigirlily Gold, George Birge, and Bryce Leatherwood will team up for this unplugged acoustic-only holiday special.
Gerald Albright’s Lone Tree Sessions: Take 6

Singing a capella, Take 6 will infuse familiar holiday songs with jazz, gospel, pop, and R&B influences.
A Colorado Christmas

The ultimate Christmas experience for locavores, this medley of seasonal tunes will be led by the Colorado Symphony, Colorado Symphony Chorus, and Colorado Children’s Chorale and hosted by Denver vocalist Devin DeSantis. Arrive early to the show for family-friendly activities and crafts.
Riders in the Sky Christmas

This Western music-comedy troupe has been performing since 1977. During this family-friendly performance, they’ll put their signature twang on Christmas classics.
Lapompe: Django Carols

Denver outfit Lapompe will cross Django Reinhart–style gypsy jazz with traditional Christmas carols for this beloved annual performance.
Holiday BrassFest
- Where: Denver Performing Arts Complex Galleria (1301 13th St.)
- Details: Dec. 14 at 11:30 a.m. Free.
A 29-year-old tradition, members of the Denver Brass ensemble will perform a free concert for the public in Denver Performing Arts Complex’s outdoor plaza. Expect familiar tunes like “Up on the Rooftop” and “Jolly Old St. Nicholas.”
Holly Jolly Family Concert
- Where: Newman Center for the Performing Arts (2344 E. Iliff Ave.)

TubaChristmas Concert

It’s the humble tuba’s turn in the spotlight: At this annual gathering, dozens of tuba players will perform holiday standards—keep your eye out for the decorated ones.
DJO Holiday Show

Denver Jazz Orchestra’s 18-musician ensemble (think: trombones, trumpets, and saxes galore) will crowd Dazzle’s stage for this annual showcase of swing-infused holiday hits.
Annie Booth Trio: Charlie Brown Christmas

- Details: 21 shows, from Dec. 16 to Dec. 24. Tickets start at $30.
Is it even Christmas without hearing the Charlie Brown Christmas theme? Check that item off your holiday to-do list during this live concert led by pianist Annie Booth and bandmates bassist Patrick McDevitt and drummer Alejandro Castaño, as well as a rotation of jazz vocalists.
Swinging Holiday Songbook with Drew Morell & Friends
- Where: Nocturne (1330 27th St.)

Bandleader Drew Morell will lead his group through throwback selections from Frank Sinatra, Perry Como, Ella Fitzgerald, and others.
Soundtracks of the Season

Too Hot to Handel

Handel’s Messiah has been performed since 1741, but the Colorado Symphony and composer Christopher Dragon are putting a modern twist on the seasonal composition with notes of jazz, gospel, and R&B.
