Yesterday’s 1-0 win in Arizona was hard to watch for anyone interested in offense, but it did feature a great pitching performance by the Rockies’ Jhoulys Chacin. The young gun went seven-and-two-thirds innings without giving up a run.
The Denver Post thinks the 22-year-old Chacin has now solidified his spot in the Rockies’ starting rotation in 2011, and Bleacher Report agrees. Chacin looks to take that spot from either Aaron Cook or Jeff Francis; neither has lived up to the team’s expectations for 2010.
