This just in from the DNCC by e-mail: Invesco Field will open at 1 p.m. for those with community credentials. They recommend you get there early.
Participants are encouraged to arrive as early as possible. Community credentials correspond to specific sections within the stadium, but seats within each section are first come, first-served. Once inside, concessions will be available for purchase, including food and non-alcoholic beverages. Details of the program to precede Barack Obama’s acceptance speech will be announced next week.

The Colorado Department of Transportation also has sent out a press release (received by e-mail, no link) on route closures around Invesco Field for Thursday, with information on how to get there and back for those who received community credentials for Thursday’s event.
As to closures: On Thursday, the day of Sen. Obama’s acceptance speech at Invesco Field, the 5 ½-mile stretch of Interstate 25 between U.S. 6 and I-70 will close at 5:30 pm until after Thursday night’s events conclude. You can get alternate routes here. Also, Colfax Avenue will close starting at 9:00 am from Mariposa Street to Federal Blvd. It will reopen after the conclusion of Thursday night’s events. You will be detoured to Kalamath St. Eastbound Colfax will be detoured at southbound Federal Blvd. As to how to get there, CDT suggests public transit, bicycling or carpooling. Parking along neighborhood streets may not be a good idea as the standard parking rules will be in effect, requiring residential permits. Another option: Park downtown and use a shuttle. Right now RTD plans to rotate shuttles during the 11 am to 2pm time period from 22nd and Wazee. down Broadway to 8th to Zuni, to Invesco. The same route will be used for returns. There’s also the Coors Field shuttle. Park at Coors in lots A, B or C for $5 and a free shuttle will take you to to 5th & Walnut between 11 am and 2 pm. From there, it’s just a walk across the Broncos Bridge to Invesco. Parking spaces will be available on a first-come, first-served basis on the Auraria campus in the vicinity of 7th St. and Walnut. Ticketholders arriving early will be able to park at Auraria lots and walk to Invesco Field at Mile High. There’s also Light Rail on Thursday, but the Pepsi Center Station will remain closed. And, there will be a pedestrian “designated with visible signage and staffed with volunteer guides ” from the 16th Street Mall and Larimer Street. How do you get out after the event? The same way. Also, taxis will be available along Federal Blvd on the west side of Invesco and at 5th and Walnut. More info is avaliable at Denver Gov and Downtown Denver and Denver Convention 2008.
