Let’s be honest: Navigating airport terminals with young children is stressful even with the most well-behaved kids. There’s hardly a way to wrangle all the luggage and gear with a spare hand to keep your kid from vanishing all Home Alone 2-style. Enter Vea Kids, the children’s gear rental company thought up by Southern Colorado dads Ruble Henderson and Andrew Kucera.
At the end of November, the Colorado Springs-based Vea Kids started renting out high-quality (and clean!) car seats, strollers, and playpens at Denver International Airport. Parents flying into DIA can leave they bulky kid gear at home and reserve the pieces they need online, just like you would rent a car.
That's only $1 per issue!
Currently, Vea Kids is setup near the train exits inside the Grand Hall. But, in January, representatives will be at kiosks in the baggage claim waiting for travelers with their gear order. For now, visitors to the Mile High City are the ones benefitting, but expansions to other airports across the nation are in the works.
Available rentals include Baby Jogger strollers, 4Moms play pens, Maxi Cosi car seats, and Kelty Pathfinder kid carriers—all available from $5 to $15 per day. “We want to keep everything as light and durable as possible,” Kucera, COO and co-founder of Vea Kids, says. “It’s family travel made simple.”
Trip Saving Bonus Tip: Besides the rental equipment, the Grand Hall storefront also stocks trip-saving baby necessities like diapers, wipes, pacifiers, formula, and pain medication.
