Club promoters are worried we won’t have enough scratch for concerts this fall, so they’re offering some unusual promotions to get us through the doors. As The Denver Post’s Reverb blog notes, tickets to the New Year’s Eve show at the Bluebird Theater, featuring Slim Cessna’s Auto Club (pictured) and Paper Bird, are “going at basement prices.” Ticketmaster sold the first 50 tickets yesterday for $10 a piece.

Cheap tickets are also available for at least two Halloween shows: The first 150 tickets to the Nashville Pussy show are $5 at Ticketmaster, and the first 50 to Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit at the Larimer Lounge are selling for $10 at BigMarksTickets.com. Scott Campbell, who owns the Larimer and buys talent for the Bluebird, just wants to ensure the shows sell out.

“With the economy and the way things are right now, and with these being special events, it feels right to offer these special prices,” he says.

Meanwhile, Live Nation is hyping Club Passport: $49.99 buys access to select rock shows at venues such as the Fillmore through the end of the year.
