The last day or so of a program that media outlets have dubbed the “cash for clunkers of appliances” isn’t going so well.
Recharge Colorado has enough cash to offer about 75,000 rebates—such as $300 for new water heaters, or money for new washers, dryers, dishwashers, etc. Would-be participants are having problems getting through on the Web site or by phone to secure some bucks, according to 9News.
Give One Year of 5280 for just $16.
“We are asking people to be persistent and be patient and keep trying,” says Todd Hartman, a spokesman for the Governor’s Energy Office.
If you’re having problems, you might want to try the program’s Facebook account, at facebook.com/rechargecolorado, a page that works even if you’re not a member of the social-networking site.
