Make Your Home Glitter With These Golden Touches

Gold is the color of the season. Here's how to bring the hue inside your home.

Having spent most of the summer playing outdoors, perhaps you’re only now becoming reacquainted with your home’s decor—and discovering it has little to say. Luckily, Denver’s home-design stores and studios are stocking their shelves with just the thing to add flash to your pad: gold. Designers are integrating the mother of all metallics into everything from throws to art this season. “Gold is almost a neutral, but better because it adds a little spark of light,” says Anuschka Pashel, owner of home goods and floral shop Bloom by Anuschka (locations in Cherry Creek North and Union Station). Plus, accessories with a little shimmer play well with seasonal favorites like nubby linens and Mediterranean-inspired prints. “One design trick I love is combining pieces with different finishes,” says Amy McClellan, owner of Reverie Living in Highland. “Your decor looks less matched and more interesting when you have polished and matte pieces.” We mined local shops and designers to find some of the most (aesthetically) valuable pieces in town.
